The National Wild Turkey Federation’s Women In The Outdoors Program was held at Bull Creek Rod and Gun Club this past Saturday June 4th. Event co-coordinator and club member Lori Lojak reports that 25 women participated in classes including handguns, rifle, shotgun, archery, self-defense, soap making, Dutch oven and bird watching.
Lori reported “The women really enjoyed themselves; some first timers found that they were very good at shooting, with one hitting 4 out of 6 [clay] birds and this was the first time she ever shot a gun!”
Women in the Outdoors events are held across the country using experts and trained professionals to teach outdoor skills in a noncompetitive environment. The Women in the Outdoors program helps members develop outdoor skills and emphasizes the importance of wildlife management and the role of hunters in conservation.
